Paranoid Soup (between the lines)

They're all out to get me

They must think I'm blind

But I know just what they're up to

Because I read between the lines

They asked me out to dinner

But poison's on their minds

They won't write it on the menu

But I can read between the lines

I see the daggers in their smiles

I see the weapons none can find

I hear the echoes of unspoken words

Because I read between the lines

Now all my friends have left me

And the neighbours are unkind

And they all scheme against me, why

Just for reading between the lines

The lines are wide and the spaces narrow

I'm so smart, sharp as an arrow

Targetting what they're all not saying

And seeing through the plans they're laying

I know I'm in the loop
